Rainbow Book Chair by Chen Liu

creative chair

This Rainbow Book Chair was designed by Chen Liu. “This low chair was designed for library, the colors may vary to fit the different interior atmosphere. The concept is playing with the original element of a book – pages, layers and the action of ‘open’. Chen played with the scale of the book and cut the pages to create positive and negative shape in two sides to fit the body. In terms of material, she chose yoga mat as a prototype, felt would be another choice in this case.”

For The Love Of Drumming

Ever caught yourself doing the air-drums in the middle of a song? Van Halen and WWRY get me to do that all the time. Well, the option of using a portable instrument like the Y-Drum is a good one, especially when it works out good for beginners. It is a mobile, accessible and easy to use; making the percussion practice even more fun.

As Kévin explains, “Everyone can build and customize his own set with the pads. All the system is synchronized via Bluetooth. So just set up or choose a drum set with the Roland’s application installed on the smartphone, the tablet or the computer and start to play!”

Designer: Kévin Depape

Aqua Zinger

Does plain-old drinking water do nothing for ya? Well, you’re not alone. With every problem comes a brilliant solution and the antidote to boring water is the tooty-fruity Aqua Zinger.

The Aqua Zinger is a sleek water bottle equipped with a built-in fruit infuser that functions much like a blender. You get to choose what kind of fruits to flavor your water with, and then you get to send them to the miniature fruit slaughter house. What you’re left with is fruity-tasting water minus the pulp and sugary stuff. This is ideal for those who have a texture problem and would prefer that pulp be left in the fiction section.

Aqua Zinger onto your backpack and free up some room for other healthy snacks.

As much as we love junk food, we know that it’s important to get our vitamin F’s from fresh fruits and not from Froot Loops. Hot tea would taste even more delicious with fruits and drinking refreshing, fruity water will have you thinking you’re at the spa.

The Aqua Zinger is new to Firebox.com for £24.99 and is also available at Brookstone.com in Blue, Grey, Green and Pink for $24.99.

Shadow-Inspired Lighting

This large pendant light is based on the universal art of hand shadows where individuals use their hands to create birds, rabbits, and other figures. To merge this age-old tradition with modern materials and lighting, the innumerable cluster of hands create an expressive shade to shield direct light as well as casts familiar shadows on the surrounding walls.

Material: ECOLOTEK- durable, fully compostable material composed of natural hemp-fibers, minerals and binder.

Designer: J.P. Meulendijks

creative lamp

“The name Lumio is inspired by the idea of an illuminated book. The light turns on when you open the cover and turns off when it’s closed. Lumio illuminates when you need light and stows away compactly when unused, ideal for modern living. Adjust the lamp as your lighting needs change throughout the day. Use it as a table lamp, a wall sconce, ceiling pendant, ambient lighting, outdoor lighting or come up with your own unique ways to use Lumio.” The project recently launched on Kickstarter, and has already surpassed its target goal by more than 200%.
